Personal Statement Workshop

Description:
Writing an effective personal statement or essay is an important part of the transfer application process.  Attend this session and you will learn how to write a statement outlining your goals, achievements, leadership skills and more!  Gain valuable tips on how to brainstorm ideas and write effectively. The presenter will also share some great tips on how to organize your essay well. By attending this session, you will learn how to make your application stand out and get noticed!

 

 

University of Washington Seattle PUBLIC HEALTH Majors Workshop

Are you interested in studying Public Health? Attend this session and you will learn more about the programs offered at the UW Seattle! An adviser from the UW School of Public Health will be at Highline to meet with interested students. Learn about the admissions requirements and career fields within public health. The advisor will discuss majors in Food Systems and Nutrition; Environmental Health; Health Informatics and Health Information; Global Health.

College Transfer Fair

Description: 

If you are planning to transfer to a four-year college or university, it is NEVER TOO EARLY to plan your transfer! There will be over 30 four-year WA colleges and universities on campus to provide you with information on admissions to their school. Come by and get your questions answered about application deadlines, majors, scholarship opportunities, etc. The fair is a great place to explore colleges and options!

An opportunity to receive personalized feedback about your personal statement and transfer application material from 4-year college Admissions representatives.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Current Highline College students who are planning to transfer to a university in the near future.

An advisor from the UW Tacoma School of Business will be at Highline College to give a presentation on how to prepare for and apply to the Business program. Students who are interested in business or accounting should attend and get the facts! Learn how to be a competitive applicant! The advisor will cover: admissions requirements including GPA, prerequisite courses, when to apply, Wrting Skills Assessment or WSA and answer questions. The advisor will share some valuable tips on what the Business program is looking for!
